Meditation

Yoga Therapy is person-centred and collaborative in nature. Clients are taught functional movement and how to regulate themselves using techniques that they can call upon anytime.

Private classes provide an opportunity to go into further depth and to tailor programmes specifically for your needs. This involves completing an intake form and assessment to identify your goals and any symptoms you’d like to address.

Testimonials

42 year old male with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

I felt able to trust Sarah from the very start of our work together. What I found really helpful was Sarah’s unique person-centred approach to my issues, working with me as an individual encouraging me to complete achievable goals rather than overwhelming me with yoga that felt too strenuous, too difficult or too tiring.

Sarah is an excellent listener and I felt she was right there with me, right from the first session, helping me to gently challenge myself in a safe way without ever compromising my energy levels but knowing what might offer me some therapeutic value.

Sarah’s approach was very much focussed on me feeling positive about what I was doing throughout the yoga therapy sessions as well as my daily homework sessions. As a result, I have continued to practice what I have learned from Sarah on a daily basis. I have been using the tools that she has taught me and this has significantly helped ease the discomfort I had been feeling in my body without resorting to using painkillers.

47 year old male with anxiety and shoulder pain

There were so many things that were helpful about the sessions. It was great to learn some breathing techniques and demonstrate to myself that they help with stress management. It was also great to practice different stretches and moves to help alleviate my ongoing shoulder pain. They both really work.

Beyond that, it was also very helpful in setting a routine for taking time out to look after my mental and physical health. In a private setting, I also overcame my psychological barriers of trying yoga therapy and didn’t feel at all self-conscious.

The sessions took place during a uniquely difficult period in our history and I have no doubt that the sessions, and practice in between, were invaluable for helping to maintain a sense of perspective and a positive mental outlook.
